BLADE WEAPONS (e.g. swords, daggers, knifes)

ILLEGAL

- metal blades

LEGAL

- weapon imitations made out of foam, rubber, cardboard and thermoplastic material with blunted tips

- LARP weapons made out of foam or latex with a stabilization core

CUTTING WEAPONS (e.g. hammers, maces, clubs, axes)

ILLEGAL

- metal body

LEGAL

- weapon imitations made out of foam, rubber, cardboard and thermoplastic material without sharp edges

- LARP weapons made out of foam or latex with stabilization core

FIREAMRS (eg. rifles, guns)

ILLEGAL

- real firearms, SoftAir guns and gaspistols

- real ammunition

LEGAL

- inoperable weapon imitations

- weapon imitations made out of foam, rubber, cardboard and thermoplastic material without sharp edges


STAFFS (e.g. lances, scythes, bamboo swords)

ILLEGAL

- staffs made out of wood, metal, hard-plastic or any combination of them.

LEGAL

- staffs made out of foam, rubber, cardboard and thermoplastic material, if the wooden part is not the majority of the weapon.

BOW AND ARROWS

ILLEGAL

- fully functional bows

- arrows of all kind (indipendently of material)

LEGAL

- bows without working bowstring

- headless arrows

GENERALLY ILLEGAL

- throwing knifes, shurikens

- knuckledusters, baseball bats

- nunchakus

- pyrotechnics and explosives (e.g. firecraker, rockets)

What would a proud warrior be without his bloodstained axe, a powerful mage without his wand, or an elf without his fine bow? Hardly any Cosplay can do without a weapon imitation. Thus, the EpicCon 2016 would like to give some hints for carrying weapons imitations at the convention to make it an unforgettable experience for all visitors.

All weapon imitations will be inspected before entering the exhibition hall.

GENERAL ILLEGAL WEAPONS/ WEAPON IMITATIONS

  • real guns, SoftAir- and Gaspistols (even if unloaded)
  • real ammo
  • real throwing weapons (stars, knives, darts)
  • pyrotechnic and explosives (rockets, firecrackers)
  • brass knuckles, clubs, baseball bats
  • retch weapons (e.g. Nunchakus)
  • cut and thrust weapons made out of metal with sharp or blunt tip (swords, knives)
  • staffs and pipes made out of metal, wood, fiberglass, duroplastics or a combination of this (bamboo swords, wood sticks, lances)
  • arrows of all kind, independently of the material
  • whips over 1m length

Those who are caught with one of this weapons despite the ban will see their tickets confiscated and will be banned immediately from the exhibition hall, even if entitled to carry the weapon!

WEAPON RULES

  • weapon imitations made out of foam, rubber, cardboard and thermoplastics
  • weapon imitations and staffs made out of a combination of wood, cardboard, plastic, thermoplastics, if the amount of wood isn’t outweighed
  • LARP weapons made out of foam or latex with a stabilisation core
  • bows without functional cord; headless arrows

DESIGN RULES

  • armour parts made out of metal must be attached to the body
  • chains made out of metal must be attached to the costume
  • spikes attached to bracelets and necklaces are not allowed to be over 5cm and have to be blunt
  • no sharp edges and corners
